SITUATION VACANT

The Agriculture Department of the Government of Punjab invites applications from eligible candidates (Male & Female) domiciled in Punjab for the following positions under the development project "Mitigating the Emerging Issues of Pesticide Residues in Vegetables and Rice through Capacity Building of Farmers and Extension Agents" (2022-23 to 2025-26):

Available Positions:

Deputy Director (Agriculture Plant Protection)
- BPS: 18
- No. of Posts: 01
- Qualification: M.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Entomology or Plant Pathology from a recognized university.
- Experience: 5 years of post-qualification experience in Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides.
- Age Limit: 45 years.
Assistant Director (Agriculture Plant Protection)
- BPS: 18
- No. of Posts: 01
- Qualification: M.Sc. (Hons.) in Agricultural Entomology or Plant Pathology from a recognized university.
- Experience: 3 years of post-qualification experience in Pest Warning & Quality Control of Pesticides.
- Age Limit: 40 years.

Notes:

Age Relaxation: No relaxation in the upper age limit is admissible.
Equivalence Certificate: Candidates with other relevant degrees must provide an equivalence certificate from HEC or the concerned Board.
Contract Nature: The appointments are temporary, non-transferable, job-specific, non-pensionable, and confer no right for regularization. The initial contract will be for one year.
Retired Persons: Retired individuals are not eligible to apply.
Merit-Based Recruitment: Recruitment will be strictly on merit, based on Punjab's rules and the Recruitment Policy and Contract Appointment Policy, 2004.

Applications should be on the prescribed form, downloadable from www.agripunjab.gov.pk.
Address applications to the Secretary Agriculture, Government of Punjab, 21-Davis Road, Lahore, clearly indicating the project/post applied for.
Include a CV, three recent passport-sized photographs, and attested copies of all relevant documents (CNIC, certificates, degrees, detailed marks certificates including CGPA, Hafiz-e-Quran Certificate, and any other relevant qualifications).
Applications must reach the department by October 10, 2024. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered, and only eligible candidates will be called for tests/interviews. No TA/DA will be paid.

Candidates can also apply through www.jobs.punjab.gov.pk, but submission of a hard copy of the application form with all attested documents is mandatory.

Additional Information:

A list of eligible candidates will be displayed on the Notice Board three days before the interview, along with interview call letters. For queries, candidates may contact the Additional Secretary (Planning) at the Agriculture Department, Lahore, at least two days before the interview date.
A list of successful candidates will also be displayed on the Notice Board, and appointment letters will be issued after approval by the Departmental Selection/Recruitment Committee.
The competent authority reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of posts.
Selected candidates will not benefit from any pay protection.
No posts are reserved under the quota for Women, Minorities, and Disabled persons.
